Privacy policy
What Budgets LK does with information about you, in plain words. Last updated 20 October 2026.
The short version
Budgets LK has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no advertising and no analytics or tracking code. We do not ask for your name or other personal details to use the site.
What stays on your device
The site saves a few small settings in your own browser so it can remember your choices. They are not sent to us.
- Theme: whether you chose light or dark mode.
- Amounts selector: the year of prices you chose for inflation-adjusted figures.
- Language: a cookie (googtrans) that records the language you picked.
- Announcements: whether you dismissed a notice on the home page.
You can clear these at any time in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
Server records
Like most websites, the server that hosts Budgets LK (our hosting provider, Hostinger) may keep technical records of requests, such as the time, the page requested, your IP address and browser type. These are used to run and protect the site. We do not use them to identify or follow individual visitors.
Translation (Google)
If you choose a language other than English, your browser loads the Google Translate service from Google. Google then handles the page text and your request under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. If you stay on English, nothing is loaded from Google for translation.
Emails you send us
If you write to info@budgetslk.com, for example to report a data error, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply and to fix the issue, and we do not sell or share them. Ask us if you want them deleted.
Links and sharing
The share buttons and source links take you to other sites, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, X, government sites and the IMF. Nothing is shared with them until you click, and their own privacy policies apply from then on.
Search engines
We use Google Search Console to see how the site appears in Google Search. It reports on search results and the health of our pages. It does not place tracking code on your visit to the site.
Children
The site is for a general audience and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change. If we ever add analytics, advertising or accounts, we will update this page first.
